Raham:Hari ng mga Pusa
Raham: Hari ng mga Pusa by Nemesio Caravana Illustrated by Dodge Sanchez Liwayway Issue June 12 1967
Steve, Aba magaling ang Coching-influenced illustrator na ito. Wonder what happened to him? Eventually he would have developed his own style and he could have been another Emil Rodriguez.
Guess what. Dodge Sanchez copied Rico Rival in the 1970s and you'll be surprised (flummoxed in a bad way) if you see how his drawings went like chicken feet scratchings. Very sad, indeed, because his old work looked wonderful, despite the obvious Emil Rodriguez clone, including the crosshatching, the drapery, and all the little details involved. He passed away a few years ago. He was Rico Rival's compadre, by the way.

JM, totoo ba na artistahin itong si Dodge? According to some, he looks like Eddie Fernandez.
ReplyDeleteYes, the LAGALAG guy, wasn't he?
